About StartupCTO

Welcome! StartupCTO is dedicated to helping technology startups and other small development teams create better software, faster. Building good software quickly is hard, and even companies as large and experienced as Google have trouble with it.

In my work as a software engineer at various startups here in the Bay Area, many people I’ve talked to say that it’s a bit of a ‘black art’… there is a lot of theoretical knowledge out there, but not that much practical guidance. And much of what is out there is hidden away in books and distributed via seminars, neither of which are easily Googleable (Google Book Search notwithstanding). With the articles, how-to guides, and templates on this site, I hope to give everyone insight into this mysterious art and a leg up on their own projects.

I do know that I don’t have all the answers, and I’d like to encourage you to post comments on the content. I also occasionally accept guest posts on topics of interest; email me if you have something you'd like to share and we can discuss it.

If you’d like more background on me, visit my personal website, or my LinkedIn Profile. The company I run is ExaVault, a business file transfer platform.

If you have any questions or comments, please get in touch!

Happy Coding,

Hi,

Is StartupCTO still running? I'm asking because the RSS feed http://feeds.startupcto.com/ seems to be down and all articles here seem to be a bit old…

Thanks for your response,

Mikael

PS: even the captcha doesn't know that Trump is the US President ! :-D

Still here! Where do you see a link to the RSS feed? I don't think I've ever had one (unless it came automatically with the old version of this software), so trying to figure out where you may have found it.

What does seem to be broken is Recent Changes; I'll have to look into that. Most recent article update was 18 May 2017: http://www.startupcto.com/people/hr/second-tier-tech-cities

Hello again,

I wanted to reach out and check if you had a chance to consider my previous email. I hope everything is going well for you!

I’m writing an insightful article that convinces entrepreneurs to move to your city and start a new business. If you're interested, let me know and I'll gladly share it with you.

Many thanks for your time today, Eva Benoit https://evabenoit.com/

P.S. If you don’t want me to email you anymore, please reply and let me know. On the other hand, if you’re interested in an article on a topic other than what I pitched, be sure to let me know and I’ll come up with something more fitting for your site.

I would like to point out that using “Tools/Edit this page” it is possible to modify your website. I made a small change (out of curiosity) and then put things back as they were.
